Winnipeg Residential Spray Foam Services

Spray Polyurethane Foam, commonly known as SPF, is a spray-applied insulating foam plastic that has multiple applications.  The foam is first applied as a liquid but subsequently expands many times its original size to create an air barrier and to help with moisture control.  For residential homes, SPF can be used to insulate against the summer heat, trapping the air conditioned cool air within the insulated home and can prevent cold air from seeping in during the winter months.

If you own or live in an older home, as much as 50% of your heating and cooling bills can be attributed to air leakage and poor insulation.  Reduce your energy bills and protect you home.  Spray foam can be used for the following applications:

  • Walls
  • Ceilings
  • Attics
  • Crawlspace
  • Floors
  • Basements
  • Above garage spaces
  • Cottages & Vacation Homes
Spray On Systems offers these residential spray foam insulation services.  IIf you are interested in insulating your Winnipeg home, contact us for a free quote.  Our team of residential spray foam insulation experts will visit your home and provide you with an estimate for your project.

What are the Benefits of using Spray Foam on your Home?

  • Spray foam costs about the same as other forms of insulation but have proven to be more effective and efficient
  • Proper insulation will help reduce your energy bills
  • Because spray foam offers no food value, it does not support bacterial or fungal growth and keeps your family safe from harmful chemicals, mould and decay
  • Insulation is an effective way to keep pollen and pollutants from entering your home
  • Spray foam is also an environmentally responsible choice compared to other forms of insulation as it will last indefinitely
  • Spray foam will add strength and rigidity to your home - while alternative forms of insulation such as fiberglass batts or blown-in cellulose will not
  • Our spray foam has a true R-value of 6.0 (1-inch thickness), depending on the density of the foam we use. Spray foam is the only insulation product that offers true R-value because of its air seal ability
For homes in Winnipeg, insulation is required to maintain the internal temperature - keep the heat inside during winter and the heat out during summer months.  Contact our team of Winnipeg residential spray foam experts for a comprehensive examination of your home.

The Right Foam for your Home

At Spray On Systems, we make recommendations based on the needs of your home.  We specialize in the use of the 2-pound foam for the building envelope because of its R-value  of approximately 6.0 - 6.5 per inch.  Our closed-cell foam can conform to any shape space, and cures to a fully adhered, solid, monolithic insulation envelope.  The final product is extremely solid and have proven to add measurable and significant strength to your walls while preventing air and moisture infiltration.

Many contractors will offer a 1/2 pound open-cell foam option at significantly lower costs.  While we do offer this 1/2 pound foam option, we recommend its usage only on specific applications. Half pound foam is typically easier to apply and provides an R-value of only 3.6 per inch and a density of approximately 1/2 pound per cubic foot. While open cell can act as a good insulator and crack sealer, moisture and air infiltration are still an issue due to the foam's 'open cell' structure.  The resulting effect will be less effective compared to the 2-pound foam option.

For a more cost effective alternative, Spray On Systems Winnipeg also offers blown in fiberglass insulation.  This loose-fill fiberglass product can be used on its own or it can be used in combination with spray foam.  The loose material can be applied to newly framed houses or older properties and will easily fill cracks and pockets of vacant space in your attic or basement.  Learn more about Blown In Fiberglass Insulation here.

Insulation for Cottages & Vacation Homes

Spray Polyurethane Foam can also be used on your cottages and vacation homes.  For cottage insulation projects, it is helpful to know the square footage of your cottage, the areas you would like insulated and if you will be insulating the skirting and underside of your cottage.  Contact our team of Winnipeg residential spray foam experts to discuss your options.
