Whether it’s a huge custom garage or a small indoor patio space, you can bet that the boring grey color of concrete will not only make the space appear simple, but spills, oil and chemicals can all permanently stain and ruin concrete. That’s why preserving these materials with a protective coating is crucial to keeping your concrete slab looking good for years to come.

Why use Polyurethane Concrete Coatings?

While it may seem that all concrete stains and coatings are alike, there is a big difference when it comes to choosing the best product for your concrete slab. Concrete stains often only change the color of the flooring, leaving it vulnerable to damages. Epoxy-based paints only coat the surface, ensuring scratches and chips occur easily. A polyurethane coating works best because it is absorbs into the concrete, protecting your concrete coating from cracking, peeling and blistering.  With different colours and patterns to choose from, you can turn your ordinary garage or basement into livable, and usable space.

How does it Work?

Polyurethane-based concrete floor coatings are one of the easiest and most durable floor coatings to install. Here are the simple steps we take to protect your floors.  Our coating also has a fast turnaround time which means your floors can be used almost immediately after installation.

  1. Etch the floor to remove the smooth protective top coat using the recommended etcher materials and a push broom. Rinse off the excess and allow it to dry.
  2. Mix the materials according to the manufactures specifications and apply a small amount directly to the floor.
  3. Use a paint roller to spread the polyurethane consistently and evenly over the floor.
  4. Broadcast the decorative chips onto the freshly coated surface and allow it to dry for 4-8 hours before using and wait at least 24 hours before driving on it.

Whether you own an industrial complex, a farm or just a simple family residence, freezing water pipes and tanks can be a major repair problem. To prevent the damaging effects of frozen water, it’s in your best interests to insulate your water tanks and pipes.

But not every type of insulation will work as effectively as spray foam insulation. Many materials like loose batting and foam wraps often create seams that lower energy efficiency greatly. Spray foam materials are applied with a constant stream of insulation so that no gaps or cracks occur and continuity of thermal efficiency is well maintained, even in the most extremes of weather.

Why use Spray Foam Insulation?

Foam insulation pipe coating is a cost effective method for insulating many materials. Onsite applications with spray insulation ensure that your water tanks and pipes are well insulated without the hassle of removing and replacing materials and parts. Outdoor tanks and pipes treated with polyurethane foam need not be protected from the elements as spray foam insulation seals the materials and increases its weather resistance permanently. And with no maintenance necessary for the life of the product, you can bet that frozen pipes will be the last thing on your mind.

Spray foam can also be used to keep thermal materials stable. In industrial settings where extremely hot or cold products are in use, spray insulation can ensure these materials are well insulated and kept at the correct temperature without heavy thermal loss. With little down time for insulation, increased energy efficiency and no maintenance, you can be sure that no matter what type of pipes or tanks you insulate, spray foam insulation is the best choice for your project.

Spray Foam Insulation with Spray On Systems WinnipegThere are numerous ways to increase the energy efficiency of a structure, but nothing beats the power of a well-insulated building. Fiberglass, and spray foam are three materials that prevent the costly effects of energy loss by increasing the R-value of your structure. While all three of these insulative materials have their benefits and disadvantages, here at Spray On Systems, we offer them all to suit your energy needs and budget best. Contact us now for a no obligation estimate today and we’ll help you save energy—and money.

Cellulose Insulation

Made from paper and natural fibers, cellulose insulation looks similar to fiberglass insulation. Cellulose insulation is often blown into attic spaces and walls to prevent energy loss and is one of the cheapest forms of insulation available. Spray On Systems offers a combination of cellulose, fiberglass or spray foam for the ultimate in insulation and savings.

Fiberglass Insulation

Fiberglass is made from glass and is often used in attic insulation as loose filling, but also comes in rolls known as batting. These rolls of insulation are attached to paper backing and cut to a specific width and length to fit between wall studs and attic rafters/joists. Fiberglass can be more costly than cellulose, but has a greater R-value than most cellulose insulation materials.

Spray Foam Insulation

For the ultimate in air sealing insulation, nothing beats the effects of a spray foam insulated structure. Polyurethane spray foam is applied directly to attic rafters and studs as a wet solution. As it dries, it expands and completely seals any gaps or spaces in the structure, preventing air leaks and energy loss. It can be a more costly process to install, but ensures energy loss is kept to a minimum.
